I work with the emerging Markets local and national governments to help them provide better service. Governing is a means to manage public issues. Though traditionally centred on interstate diplomacy and international organizations, now a wide variety of public and private actors engage in cross-border governance – and the work itself has expanded beyond treaty-making and international law, to include formal and informal rule-making, monitoring, enforcement, and financing. Effective governance is essential to secure peaceful and prosperous societies, particularly in the face of recent, dramatic geopolitical shifts and nationalist backlash against globalization.
